Birthday Pictures (finally!)

Hi, I'm Michelle and I'm a huge blog-slacker. I have all sorts of excuses but I won't bore you with them. I will instead show you pictures of my cutie-patootie one year old on his birthday!!

I made him his very own "smash cake". It had his name on it and everything. He touched it...made a face at the weird feeling frosting....

And then did this:

That's his daddy's hand holding onto the plate and my hand in the foreground...we were both afraid he was dumping the whole thing on the floor, but no, just onto his tray. He was done. Seriously. He wouldn't eat it. Any of it. Wouldn't even taste it. Goofy boy. But typical Riley!

On to presents! He did a great job unwrapping. He really did unwrap a lot of the stuff himself.

This little boy is S-P-O-I-L-E-D! So many goodies! He got a swing, a popping lawnmower, a push toy (both of which he can walk with!), a water table (I think this will be SO fun this summer!) a bunch of clothes, books and various other toys.

He had a great time at his party. It all went smoothly, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and I even had enough food for everyone. That's a success in my book!

By the way, do you see the bruise under his right eye? Yeah...he did that the day before his party. Nice, huh? He was playing with a cookie tin in the kitchen and somehow he fell face first onto it and gave himself that nice bruise. I told everyone he was just practicing being 1 :)

On his actual birthday we had to take the last "monthly" picture. I am GLAD we're done doing those. They were getting harder and harder every time. This was the best one we could get!

My silly monkey!

The pic of him dumping the cake is PRICELESS! I love the look on his face, too. LOL! Q wasn't so sure he wanted to dig into the cake, he tasted the frosting very very hesitantly! You'll have to let me know how he likes the water table! I'm looking at getting either a sand or water table, not sure which yet. Gotta get the boy some outside toys!
Loved his 1 year pic, perfect depiction of a one year old. ;)
