Riley Paul decided to join us on March 7th at 10:28 pm. Yep, 4 1/2 weeks early! Weighed in at 5 lbs, 14 oz and is 19 inches long. Healthy, perfect and beautiful! They had a special team on hand at delivery, because he was technically pre-term, but thankfully they checked him out and pronounced him perfectly healthy. He didn't need to go the NICU or even get oxygen or anything.
We came home Monday night (Kelly's birthday!) and are adjusting to life as a family of 3. We're a bit short on sleep but we've never been happier. We are having some challenges with the nursing thing, it seems to mostly be because he was early and I think we'll get through it. Being so little, he has trouble latching on correctly but hopefully we'll get that figured out soon. He's a bit jaundiced too (also a result of the early factor most likely) but the doctor is keeping an eye on him and hopefully we'll get that taken care of soon.
Quick picture, then I have to feed the little guy again!
You can see his hospital pictures here too: http://www.growingfamily.com/webnursery/hospitals/5774/frame_test.asp?URLID=2783661391
I'll try to write up the details of his birth day. It was a long day with a couple scary parts but all in all a really good L&D experience. It may be a few days so be patient with me! :)
Hope all is well with everyone, I haven't been able to read anybody else's blogs either lately (obviously). Hopefully soon we can get the tough things sorted out and I can have a bit more time. We'll see.
I'm off to tend to my beautiful son. :)
